FAQ

Here are most commonly asked questions about maintenance-free rooflines from Homeline.

Why should I choose uPVC fasicas and uPVC roofline over Wooden Fascias

uPVC is one of the most popular choices in the UK today with 85% of buildings benefiting from this cost effective, highly durable, environmentally friendly, safe, secure and robust product. It is now widely recognised that the maintenance burden and the technical performance of timber, especially for roofline, is no longer acceptable when compared with uPVC. UPVC roofline will not rot, warp, bend or discolour. For more information please click here.

Is uPVC environmentally friendly?

uPVC is 100% recyclable and may be reused up to 10 times and more. Please click here for more information. All Homeline upvc fascias and upvc soffits are manufactured using environmentally friendly Calcium Zinc in accordance with Vinyl 2010.

Will my products discolour?

No, Homeline products have been manufactured for the same way for the past 16 years. They do not suffer from discolouration, guaranteed!

Are Homeline products guaranteed?

Homeline products come with a comprehensive guarantee policy covering our White (15 years), Foiled (10 years) and Rainwater (5 years) products. For a more detailed look at our online guarantee please click here.

What accreditation does Homeline products carry?

Homeline roofline products carry full BBA, BSI and Kitemark accreditation. For a more detailed look at our accreditations please click here.

Is it better to have a thicker UPVC fascia board installed?

For full replacement rooflines, a 16mm UPVC fascia board is suitable as it’s designed to carry the full weight of roof tiles and guttering. To ensure our products perform as they should, our installation guidelines must be adhered to.

In what circumstances is capping over acceptable?

Homeline recommend a full replacement of the old timber for a UPVC roofline replacement. There are certain circumstances however where installers will use cap-over boards effectively. Flat roofs for example can be suitable for cap-over boards if you do not want to disturb the existing roof cover (i.e. Felt or EPDM rubber cover).

Are Woodgrain products guaranteed for external use?

Yes, all Homeline woodgrains are guaranteed for 10 years as long as they are fixed at 400mm centres, not 600mm as with white products.

Is Hollow Soffit suitable for use as Cladding?

Homeline’s Hollow Soffit is only suitable for use as a Soffit Board, not as external cladding. If you are ordering cladding, please ensure your installer is using the correct product to avoid problems further down the line.

Do Homeline have rainwater harvesting products?

Rainwater harvesting products are available from Homeline’s sister company GAP, please ask your installer for more details.
